Simply Red Blooms

Who doesn't love a garden filled with flowers? I love gardening, to me it's such a stress reliever! Red flowers always add a special pop of color.

Here's a red with white star amaryllis, given to me by my neighbor. Her grandmother originally planted these bulbs in the 80's. These grow like weeds for me, and bloom off and on throughout the year!

Here is our Hibiscus tree.

One of my favorite summer blooms are these spider lillies! Their leaves grow throughout the year and start dying off early summer. Then you wait, and wait, until one day you wake up, and a lovely bloom has opened for you!

Good Junk Finds

I went to a few yard sales this weekend, and 2 Thrift store stops. I only bought these on Saturday.

I have sold a few of the Kiss tins in my etsy shop.

Who really wants to have a yard sale when its 110 degrees outside! UGGHH.. We are melting and the East Coast is experiencing rain, wind, and damage, no thanks to Irene. Thoughts out to all of you.

Thrift Store stop 1, had me buying these!

Sunday I went out and it was a few degrees cooler! 102
Yard Sale finds: rolling cart $3, 2 dvd's $1 each, Tori Spelling Books $1 each, ( don't judge~I'm one of the original 90210 fans. I did really try not to be, I didn't watch the first season, lol...), anywhoooo.. and a R2D2 playdoh set $1.

Thrift Store stop 2:

Have a good week everyone!

Would you Buy it Wednesday

I found this last week at the thrift store! It was only a dollar.
What was it originally? I don't know, but it's very versatile!

How about holding a jar or a flower?
How about holding a sweet little birdie?

Or last, but not least a candle?

Happy Redness Day...From a Diner

While Mr. Goodjunks and I, were out this weekend finding some treasures, we stopped at a burger joint for a quick bite!
They had a poster of one of my favorite movies

They had a fancy softdrink machine

and our table was dressed with some red accesories
Not to mention I got a few stares from people. They were probably thinking what is this crazy lady doing taking pictures! Oh well, life goes on. Have a great day!

Goodjunk Finds 8/23

This weekend was full of thrifty fun!
How couldn't I go to this estate sale?! Love the sign!

Here's some good finds from there. Vintage Snoopy aprons, vintage sports sheet in original package, tissue paper, cat tin, and some Olympic wallets.

I took a picture of the inside of a closet. They wallpapered the shelf and clothes bar! Great idea.

Also went to a few yard sales. Picked up this cast iron cornbread pan, Vera napkins, and heart necklace. Vera items are a good seller, if you need a few extra dollars. She made linens and scarfs with her art.

Found a few garden flags, for a dollar each. My favorite is the one with the irises!
Sunday one of the local thrift shops had toys 50% off. I found all this for $20.00. Also a Little People Market set but little sweetpea ran off with it. I don't blame her!
Hope you all had a good week and found some great treasures!

A clean house.....Wasted Life

I was at the thrift store and saw a couple laughing, while holding this sign in their hand.
"A clean house is the sign of a wasted life"

They were talking about giving it to someone, then they decided to put it back onto the shelf, for that person might get mad!
I snatched it up, and I think that's all to say!
Would you have bought it? For yourself, or a friend?

Happy National Garage Sale Day!

Hope everyone had a good day if you were out finding treasures or not! I did find some treasure but not at any yard sales, at the Habitat for Humanity store that just opened by us today! YEAH!

Lots of drawers!

Mint green tub, anyone?

Now, this is a sink!

Here's Mr. Goodjunks and little sweetpea checking out one of the nice rides!

This one looks her size!

Here are my finds! Total spent: $13.00. The paint and numbers are for a project I'm working on. I'm feeling crafty!

Gotta go help Mr. Goodjunks clean up this bad boy, that a friend gave us, and enjoy some B-B-Q!

You Should be in Movies.....

Another one of my favorite blogs has a linky party every Wednesday...When I saw this I knew I had to join!

People post a pic of something they saw at a yard sale, thrift store, etccc...then ask that famous question, "Would you buy it?".
So, would you have bought this projector and screen? Screen was in great condition, with it's own stand. Projector seemed to have everything. Both pieces for $30.00.

Sometimes you Gotta Dig...

Well, little sweetpea caught a nasty virus and that nasty thing got me Saturday night! Mr. N is now sick and let's just say there is a lot of washing, lysol, and bleach spraying going on! Before the bug caught me I did manage to get to the thrift store and a few yard sales! Yeah!
Here's some thrifty finds:
Milk glass and Kitchen goods
Love these Meadow Green Ramekins/custard cups by Fire King

Amish Pyrex Baking dish

Here are some plush toys I found.

The first yard sale of the day had some gems! There was 4 boxes full of toys. I go to the first one and there is a box full of Polly Pocket items! I was so exicted, thanks to Yard Sale Mommy. I told, ummmm...sorry, asked Mr. Goodjunks if he would ask the nice teen girl how much the box was. She came over and said $5.00. Yeah..sold! I then saw a bag full of Barbie accesories, guess what, another $5.00.

Yeah, so I am guarding my finds, while Mr. Goodjunks is asking the teen girl about some books. Behind me I heard a mom tell her daughter she could pick one thing. This little cutie in a sweet voice, said, "There's so much I don't know what to choose"! There was some ahhh's and giggles from other yardsalers around. I was so wrapped up in her cuteness I didn't see the ziplock bag full of Barbie clothes she picked. Oh well, I hope she enjoys them, you can't win them all! Then I see this lady digging in a box and finding those Madame Alexander dolls from McDonalds. I'm thinking this is crazy, I could be here all day digging through these boxes. I called the teen girl over, and asked her how much for all the boxes. She was in shock, and then comes her momma bear! Momma bear was just watching as we were negotiating, but still had that momma look in her eyes. First teen girl said $30.00. I thought hmmm..do I really want to pay $30.00 for all this, and I confirmed that would also include the Pollys and Barbie accesories she said yes. Mr. Goodjunks was just starring at me and waiting to go, he already asked me 10 times if we were done yet! hahaha
Teen girl then threw out $25.00, because she still wanted her Barbies. I agreed and said okay, we all have to keep some part of our childhood, right?
Here's a peek into one of my boxes. I found some Bratz dolls, and Harry Potter figures!

On our way home, we see another house with boxes of toys! There was three boxes, and as I'm going through the first one I see an adorable little mermaid doll. The nice lady says, she only needs batteries, she sings, and her tail moves. 25 cents if you want it! Yeah, this is going to be a great sale! I see a bag in another box with some tracks, and it happens to be a Geotrax set. I asked her how much and she said $2.00. I also grabbed the Division Leap Frog toy and bag. Total: $4.50, I had 5 ones so I gave them all to her and told her to keep the change. Ebay guilt?, well, she was nice anyways!

Here's the oh la la factor of the day!

Tiffany and Co. stationary set. We all need a little oh la la, and Tiffany in our lives!

First Day of School Blues

No, there was no rain on the first day of school, just some tears.
Little Sweetpea started First grade, she said it was very exhausting and it was too long. Quite a jump from only being in Kindergarten for 3 1/2 hours.

Mr. N started 6th grade, and is dreading Thursday because his "mean" teacher will arrive. He's had a sub since school started. Not so happy in the morning!

Looking better after school!

I have no doubt, even though school may be "exhausting", and "mean" teachers are about, they will both do great!
